Brands to Encourage Volunteering this Daan Utsav

13 brands will use Goodera’s Employee Volunteering platform to encourage employees to donate their time during ‘Joy of Giving Week’
Mumbai, 3rd October, 2018 – Industry biggies such as Amazon, Godrej, Myntra, Novartis, Lenovo, GAP and RBL will be using Goodera’s Employee Volunteering platform during Daan Utsav, also known as the ‘Joy of Giving Week’ which is held each year during the first week of October. Goodera is helping these brands with tailored volunteering opportunities that make it simple for employees to support causes that are close to their heart. Employees can even track the impact of their actions on the community and encourage others around them.
These 13 companies - Godrej, Bajaj, Amazon, Myntra, GAP, RBL, Voltas, Novartis, GSK, Knolskape, Cowrks, Allegis, and Cactus global are bringing about a new movement of sorts by encouraging their employees to perform acts of giving through volunteering on such a large scale. This is important because they are not just giving money as a donation but they are also encouraging and involving the employees as volunteers, who will be able to witness change, first-hand.
''We at Goodera have always believed in doing well for the society. It is very easy for individuals to make a small monetary contribution but here we are privileged to witness individuals coming onboard and being involved in the process. Such small steps will make this year’s Daan Utsav bigger and better, and we are hoping to see more brands encouraging their employees to volunteer this Daan Utsav”, said Richa Bajpai, Co-Founder at Goodera.
Speaking on the initiative, Abhishek Humbad, Founder, Co-Founder, Goodera said, “At Goodera, we strive to reach out to more companies and corporates and raise awareness about volunteering as they are able to witness the real-time impact of their efforts. It also strengthens the rapport with their team members when everyone is coming ahead for such a noble cause”.
Launched in 2009, Daan Utsav (or The Joy Of Giving Week as it was originally called) is India’s annual ‘festival of giving’. Celebrated every year, in the week including Gandhi Jayanti (October 2-8 this year), it brings together Indians of all stripes, to celebrate ‘giving’. It is an open platform encouraging everyone in India to give back to society in a meaningful way. An act of giving can be anything - a small donation to a charity you know, a gift for someone less fortunate, a donated meal or a couple of hours spent volunteering for a cause.
