ICAI TO HOLD CAMPUS PLACEMENTS 
IN MUMBAI 

Expect top line corporates to participate despite 
uncertain macro economy


The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the statutory body for regulation of chartered accountants in the country, will hold its campus placement programme in the city from 6th to 12th September, 2013. As many as 5000 candidates, who have recently completed their chartered accountancy, are likely to participate in the campus placement programme at India’s financial capital. Despite an uncertain macro‐economic environment and slowdown, some of the leading names of Indian industry like Vedanta Resources Plc., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Marriott Hotels India Pvt. Ltd., and SRBC & Co have confirmed their participation.

The placement programme will give companies an opportunity to hire the finest minds in the country in areas of accounts and taxation. For budding chartered accountants, the recruitment drive means that if selected, they can start their careers with topline companies and handle finances in these volatile times.
Commenting on the placement drive, CA. Vijay Kumar Gupta, Chairman and CA. Prafulla Premsukh Chhajed, Vice Chairman, CMII, Chief Coordinator of Mumbai said, “Mumbai is the heart of India’s financial landscape and we expect good response to our placement programme from Indian companies as well as multinationals. For our recently qualified chartered accountants, now is the time to grab this excellent opportunity and start their careers on a high note.”
ICAI, through its Committee for Members in Industry (CMII), organizes Campus Placement
Programme at 16 different locations in the country. The Campus Placement Programme is held twice every year in August September and February‐March. The institute has already
conducted its placement programme for the current season in Jaipur, Ernakulam, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
In 2012, as many as 130 companies comprising of 220 Interview Panels participated in Campus Placement Programme during both the seasons across the country and as many as 1500 candidates were offered jobs by leading Indian companies. The companies, which hired Chartered Accountants in 2012, mostly belonged to industries like Information Technology, Financial Services, Oil & Gas Refining, Banking, BPO, Telecommunication, Mining, FMCG, Agro etc. In Mumbai, 31 companies were part of the campus placement programme in 2012 and 214 chartered accountants were recruited.
