MRF Mogrip FMSCI National Rally Championship 2017

by Shrutee K/DNS Puttur: Nataraj from TVS Racing registered a historic win as the national motor sports was held in this town for the first time in the history of Dakshina Kannada district on Sunday. The sixth and final round of 2-wheeler MRF Mogrip FMSCI National Rally Championship 2017 saw 45 riders pan India including four women riders. Nataraj won overall crown as he clinched the title with Pro Expert A class with difference of over 30 seconds over teammate Abdul Wahid. In the expert class A, Jeevan from Chikkamagaluru was the winner followed by Asad Khan also from Chikkamagaluru in second. Vishwas SD who just returned from Raid De Himalaya ended up in the third place. In the 260 group B, TVS Racing riders entirely owned the class as Rajendra RE ended up winner followed by Imran in second place. Sachin D settled for third position. MSE raises over Rs.200 crore; ties up further funding of Rs. 95 crore

by Shrutee K/DNS Mumbai : MSE (Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India), today announced that it has raised Rs. 209 crore in just over a year and has tied up further funding of Rs.95 crore with few large investors and merchant bankers . With this, the liquid net worth of its clearing corporation subsidiary MCCIL (Metropolitan Clearing Corporation of India Limited) will be Rs. 300 crore, meeting SECC requirements. Excess funds will strengthen MSE’s own net-worth besides being invested in its business.   This marks an inflection point in the turnaround strategy put in place by the current management. Last July onwards it raised Rs. 97 crore from existing investors (IL&FS, Trust Capital, Rosy Blue Securities, Radhakrishan Damani and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala) and in the recent rights issue, Rs. 112 crore of Rs. 207 crore was subscribed by September end . Also, Siddhartha Balachandran, an NRI investor having a significant holding in BSE has picked up 5% stake in MSE recently.

Maha Doctors To Contest DMER’s Decision On Cancellation of Licenses

by Shrutee K/DNS Mumbai : The recent punitive action taken by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) against doctors in the State for not having served in the rural areas for a year post completion of their graduation, has received severe backlash from the doctors community. Being Doctors – an NGO has taken up the cause of such doctors whose registrations stand cancelled and have been asked to pay a penalty of up to Rs.2 crore depending on their qualifications. Terming the decision as arbitrary and draconian, the doctors’ body has in turn pointed out that in fact DMER was negligent in assigning doctors their postings. The doctors have stated that they voluntarily signed the bond and were willing to serve it but no communication was received from the DMER post completion of their respective courses. NSCI Badminton League set to commence from November 10

Six franchise-based teams, including King Shuttlers and last year’s runners-up Solitare Shuttlers, along with Rajdhani Royals, Roaring Raqueteers, Maverivk Aces and Giant Slayers will be seen competing for the top honours in this tournament.
