CORPORATE SANGAM (INDIA) Q1FY13 NET SALES UP  22% AT RS. 411.09 CRORE NET PROFIT UP 43% AT RS. 9.77 CRORE Sangam (India), one of the leading players in Polyester Viscose (PV)dyed  yarn segment in India, posted a 200 per cent rise in net profit at Rs18.09 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012 (Q2FY13) as compared to Rs 6.03 crore in the corresponding quarter previous year Q2FY12. Net sales during this period grew by 2.2% to Rs 384.06 crore as compared to Rs 375.64 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. Slower growth in turnover is attributed to completion of road toll collection projects. Further, a decline in raw material prices has improved operating profit by 44.5% to Rs 60.83 crore as compared to Q2FY12.Lower interest charges have led to an improved the profit after tax. TRAVEL/AVIATION Air Arabia launches service to  Rostov, Russia Oct 31, 2012 Mumbai : Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle  East and North Africa, today announced the launch of services to Rostov, its fifth destination in Russia. GDP growth forecast lowered to 6%

INDUSTRY/ECONOMY PM’s economic advisor lowers GDP growth forecast to 6% Oct 25, 2012 Prime Minister’s key economic advisor C Rangarajan has lowered the growth  projection for the current fiscal to 6 per cent from 6.7 per cent estimated earlier. Talking to a news agency in New Delhi on Thursday, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council (PMEAC) Chairman C Rangarajan said, the disturbing area is manufacturing, therefore one may have to revise estimates downwards. It is quite possible for the economy to pick up in second half and give a growth rate close to 6 per cent for the year as a whole. The PMEAC, in its ‘Economic Outlook for 2012-13′ report released in August had projected the Indian economy to grow at 6.7 per cent. The Indian economy grew at a faster pace of over 8 per cent in two consecutive fiscal before falling to a nine year low of 6.5 per cent in 2011-12. Rangarajan said the economic growth in the second (July-September) quarter would be around 5.5
