Union Bank of India and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan join hands for online fee collection

Delhi, 09th November2015: Keeping pace with India’s Vision of “Digital India”, two giants – Union Bank of India and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan have today joined hands for online fee collection of around 12 lacs students spread pan India across 1122 Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. This venture is a first of its kind in the industry where Union Bank of India has created a cashless payment ecosystem for all Kendriya Vidyalaya students, located even at the remotest corner of the country.

Under the tie-up arrangement, Union Bank of India has provided centralized fee collection software for all Kendriya Vidyalaya schools wherein the students can visit the website of Kendriya Vidyalaya and make online fee payment using any bank debit card, credit card or internet banking. For the convenience of the students, Union Bank has also provided POS terminals for making payment through debit or credit card. All transactions are updated in the system on a real time basis and students/ parents get a notification for the payment made. 

The MOU was exchanged between Shri G.K Srivastava, Addl. Commissioner, (Administration) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Shri Debajyoti Gupta, General Manager, Digital Banking, Union Bank of India. On the occasion Shri Santosh Kumar Mall, Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan said that “Partnering with Union Bank of India for online fee collection shall bring a digital revolution in the mindset of young students and shall lead them in the right direction to Digital India initiative”. Shri Debajyoti Gupta , General Manager (Digital Banking) , Union Bank of India said that “with this collaboration both the partners are in a win- win situation as online transactions will lead to less dependency on our branches for fee payment and at the same time younger minds shall be  nurtured for cashless payments”.

Union Bank of India is a leading Public Sector Bank with a wide network of 4098 Branches and 6909 ATMs.  The Bank has deployed state of art technology platform to provide customer centric products and services.  Further, Bank through its Digital Banking Department has initiated various technology projects to align IT with Business goals like Tabulous Banking, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, Instant Fund Transfer through IMPS, MTNL Bill Payment through Mobile, Talking ATM, Union 24x 7 Comfort and IRCTC Union Bank of India Prepaid Card.  The Bank also has a state of art Call Centre operational in 9 languages.
