Mumbai: Saregama, one of India’s leading music labels, releases the promotional song of the film Ittefaq – ‘Ittefaq se (Raat Baaki)’ on the Saregama YouTube channel. The song is a reprised rendition of the popular track ‘Raat Baaki Baat Baaki’ from the Amitabh Bachchan – Parveen Babi starrer: Namak Halal in 1982. Ittefaq is a rebooted version of the Yash Chopra 1969 suspense thriller of the same name.

The new version ‘Ittefaq se (Raat Baaki)’ is re-interpreted by singers Jubin Nautiyal & Nikhita Gandhi. Bappi Lahiri’s original disco beats in the song has been given a modern groovy arrangement with a distinctive lounge feel by the talented Tanishk Bagchi. While in the original song lyrics were penned by Anjaan, Tanishk Bagchi has weaved additional pieces into the new song.

The video starring the three main leads, sets up the mysterious theme of the film. Stylishly shot, and the music and lyrics complementing the mood, this is a video that will surely get audiences hooked and intrigued.

Speaking about the song and its reinterpretation in the modern day Ittefaq, Vikram Mehra – MD Saregama India said, “Raat Baaki from the original Namak Halal is a timeless track whose appeal cuts across generations. It is exciting that the iconic song has found a fresh new sound and relevance as Ittefaq Se, and is the promotional track of the film. We hope that this new version of the song finds a brand-new audience with the youth of today, and matches popularity of the old classic”.

Commenting on the launch of the promotional track, Venky Mysore, CEO, Red Chillies Entertainment, says, “With Ittefaq, we are recreating a classic for today’s audiences and music has a very strong connect with them as long as it doesn’t come in the way of the narrative. This song adds to the overall mystery of the movie and gives the audiences a glimpse into what to expect from the film. Ittefaq has been marketed using all platforms aggressively so it can reach out to viewers across, being a songless movie with a crisp run-time of 100 minutes, this catchy track is a part of the end credits.”

Commenting on the track and its video, Juno Chopra, Creative Producer, Ittefaq, says, “The new track Ittefaq se is a groovy number but doesn’t have the usual dance moves in the video. It carries forward the theme of the movie and maintains the element of mystery that surrounds it. The music video is shot keeping the genre of the movie in mind and doesn’t take away from the look and feel of the movie.”

“Raat Baaki is an evergreen song. And we're presenting it to the millennials in the way they like it... as a lounge track! With intrigue for the film building up, this music video carries the intrigue factor one step further! And fingers crossed, it'll be our yet another successful collaboration with SaReGaMa.”, says Apoorva Mehta, CEO, Dharma Productions The film - Ittefaq is a co-production of Red Chillies Entertainment, BR Studios & Dharma Productions and is directed by Abhay Chopra.
