Lesle Lewis and Mumbai bands 

perform ‘Mumbai ki Dhadkan’ at 

the ‘Mumbai Heart Concert’

Lesle Lewis and young Mumbai rock bands performed at the Mumbai Heart Concert on the eve of the World Heart Day that is celebrated on September 29 all over the world. At the heart of the concert was the Lesle Lewis-created and Fortis Hospitals-produced anthem for Mumbai, titled ‘Mumbai ki Dhadkan’.


The anthem and concert are an initiative of Fortis Healthcare Limited, one of India’s largest private healthcare chains, especially for Mumbai and its citizens. The anthem is part of a larger campaign of Fortis that is urging Mumbaikars, especially the youth, to take care of their hearts for a better quality of life. Under the on-going campaign, and apart from the anthem and the concert, Fortis Hospitals is organizing month-long heart camps in various localities of Mumbai. In the camps, Mumbaikars are being checked for potential heart risks and are being advised on dietary and lifestyle precautions to be undertaken.
Says Mr. Varun Khanna, Regional Director - East and West of Fortis Healthcare, “Mumbai citizens lead a very hectic life in which they end up ignoring their health. For Mumbai’s future, there is a need for its youth to be more health conscious, and we know that healthy hearts are a key to good health. The anthem and the concert communicate the importance of a healthy heart using music. And who better to create and perform that music than Lesle Lewis, the ace music icon.”  

The Mumbai Heart Concert witnessed live performances by five youth bands of Mumbai. These included Saptak from IIT Powai, Flameshot Fakirs from Chetna College, Breaking Bad from Lala Lajpat Rai College, Overture from VES College, and Misplaced Anthem from National College. The heart of the concert was when all the bands got together with Leslie Lewis to perform the anthem – ‘Mumbai ki Dhadkan’.
The concert also saw Lesle Lewis and over 2000 youngsters sign the pledge committing themself to maintaining better lifestyles for a healthy society.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India.
