First edition of Holland Meets Mumbai!

Presented by the Consulate General Kingdom of the Netherlands

1st – 7th June, 2015

An initiative to showcase what the Netherlands has to offer, displaying the Dutch experience across various themes; art, innovation, food, sports, music, films, etc.

Holland meets Mumbai will see the presence of the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte 
along with his trade delegation


List of events to be hosted as a part of 
‘Holland meets Mumbai’:

      
  Dutch Food Festival at Foodhall, Palladium
-          Lower Parel from 1st June-6th June, 2015
-          This will showcase a live food counter and Dutch food displays
-          Will be inaugurated by the Dutch Consul General who will take you through all the foods on display as well as cook some Dutch food at the live food counter


·     Special Dutch menu at White Owl Restaurant, Lower Parel
-          1st – 7th June, 2015
-          A  specially curated Dutch menu selection at the restaurant for a week
-          Will also include two Dutch drinks

·         Street Art:
-          1st – 5th June, 2015
-          Collaboration between Amsterdam Street Art and St-Art India foundation.
-          Artists Jarno Gnirrep, Lars Brehm, Tyler and Jas, will be working on two murals in Dharvai and Bandra as well as at the Holland Village.
-          The painting will include a portrait of a face; half of an Indian sportsperson and half of a Dutch sportsperson

·         Art exhibition:
-          6th -20th June, 2015
-          ‘The Black Tulip’ art exhibition by Lita Cabellut will held from at CSMVS (Formerly Prince of Wales Museum)

·         Film screening:
-          Dutch Film Festival on 7th June from 4pm onwards  at Little Theatre, NCPA
-          Free seating on a  first cum first served basis
-          Three Dutch films will be screened

·         Opening of the first Cruyff court in India:
-          At St Xaviers Football ground, Parel on 6th June
-          This is a football turf that will be inaugurated for public use.
-          The (Johan) Cruyff Foundation of Netherlands has entered into a partnership with Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) to set up a specially designed court adjacent the St Xavier's football ground in Parel, Central Mumbai, to encourage children to play.
-          A Cruyff Court (named after the legendary Dutch footballer) is a smaller sized football field suitable for seven-a-side game.
-          The Cruyff Courts provide a safe place where children can play football, but they are designed to be much more than just a football pitch.
-          It will be opened by Mrs. Lilianne Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade & Development Co-operation.


·         Holland Village:
-          5th – 7th June, 2015 at Cross Maidan
-         The Holland Village will showcase a model windmill, KLM Dutch airplane, five Dutch houses, Dutch brands and their innovative products.
o   Dutch House 1:Will host a live demo of clogs
o   Dutch House 2: Dutch universities
o   Dutch House 3: Typical Dutch cuisine of poffertjes
o   Dutch House 4: Stroopwaffels (thin pancakes) by Harmindar – Dutch national of Indian Origin
o   Dutch House 5: Souvenirs
-         A special zone would be to highlight e-mobility that will showcase Dutch charging technology and an Indian electric car.
-         Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte will visit the village along with his trade delegation, Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Foreign trade & development on 6th June, 2015
-          Music:
-          5th – 7th June, 2015
-          Dutch singer Jelle Band Rhinosakswill perform on 5th& 6th June, 2015
-          Besides these two musicians, we have also invited Spud in the Box, a local group, for a performance
-          Hockey:
-          5th June-7thJune, 2015
-          Free hockey masterclasses & clinics will be conducted by former Dutch hockey champions like Floris Jan Bovelander, Bas Campbell, Robert Tigges, Wouter Jolie, etc.
-          A friendly hockey match will be hosted between former Dutch & Indian hockey players

-          A Hockey Youth Cup will be hosted on 7th June
