Boeing Awards CIM Tools contract for 787 Dreamliner and 737 machined parts and assemblies


  Contract awarded for manufacture of complex titanium machined parts and aluminum assemblies 
  Demonstrates Boeing commitment to develop a globally competitive aerospace supply chain that includes Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for ‘Make in India’ momentum

Mumbai, India, August 05, 2016  – Boeing  [NYSE: BA] announced the award of a contract to CIM Tools Private Ltd. for the manufacture of complex titanium machined parts and aluminum assemblies for the 787 Dreamliner and 737 airplanes. Boeing and CIM Tools executives signed the contract during a ceremony at Bangalore. Under the contract, CIM Tools will supply over 57,000 complex titanium machined parts, aluminum details and assemblies for Boeing 787 and 737 airplanes in coming years.
The new agreement was reached through close collaboration between Boeing and CIM Tools. CIM Tools is one of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in India, which Boeing is directly working with. This is in line with Boeing’s strategy in India to develop an indigenous aerospace and defense ecosystem to further support the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

With the aim of building a world-class aerospace ecosystem in India, Boeing is expanding its collaboration with Indian industrial partners. Boeing in India has around 500 employees and more than 3,500 people work on dedicated Boeing supply-chain jobs with its 30 direct suppliers across manufacturing, engineering and IT sectors. The company continues to increase its footprint as direct and indirect suppliers and sourcing activities continue to grow rapidly.
About CIM Tools-CIM Tools Private Ltd. was set up in 1997 and since has been engaging in machining components. From 2006, the company shifted its focus to a 100% aerospace component manufacture company. CIM Tools Private Ltd. has since strengthened its business in the aerospace sector. To augment its infrastructure and to grow in multiple folds, CIM Tools Private Limited has acquired 4-acres of land in Special Economic Zone near Bengaluru Airport. Total 150,000 square feet of construction is planned in three phases with first phase being 60,000 square feet which shall be ready by end of August 2016 and will be inaugurated by Boeing.
