WIAA Women’s Rally on International Women’s Day

Western India Automobile Association will be organizing the third edition of the ‘Women’s Rally to the Valley’ to celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday, 5th March, 2017.  The Women’s Rally to the Valley will be a 192 km journey which will be flagged off from Sahara Star Mumbai and finish at Amby Valley, Lonavala. Each car will consist of an all-women’s crew of 4 and will include a collection of modern cars.
Apart from the outright winners the participants will be judged on various categories like the ‘Best Decorated Car, ‘Best Dressed Female’ etc. The WIAA has also planned a host of activities for the participants in Amby Valley before they set off  on the return journey to Mumbai.
WIAA has received a total of 145 entries so far and the last date for entries is 27th of February, 2017.  The course and participants will be monitored by a team of marshals from FMSCI and WIAA who will be collaborating with the police to provide for the safety and security of the participants. Ambulances and breakdown services will also be provided on the route.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
