INDIA ITME 2012 witnesses product launches and special seminar focused on textile chemical sector

technology show in India and Asia,  kicks off from  today until 7th December 2012 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E),  Mumbai,India.
With 820+ exhibitors  from 51 countries, covering over 100,000 sqm. of exhibition area,   10 new country participation, many delegations from new textile markets, eminent technocrats and textile experts speaking at the Seminar, and 100,000 visitors,  this event will be the largest so far India has ever hosted with the complete exhibition space of Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre booked from mid-November 2012 to December 10, 2012.
The event boasts of 3 new product launches and special seminar focused on textile chemical sector organized by most prestigious University Department for Chemical Technology (UDCT).  Today,  it is a proud moment for  Indian Textile Industry that it has grown its potential as a textile market and a manufacturing hub globally, that it is hosting a textile machinery exhibition show of such a large scale whereby apart from the 820 confirmed exhibitors, more than 400 companies are wait listed for space.  The bookings for this event closed 15 months back in 2011.
In a very interesting development,  for the first time,  the textile machinery exhibition is supported by State and Central Government.  The organizers are making many arrangements to ensure convenience for visitors in conjunction with the local city governing bodies.
This prestigious event was honoured by the presence of eminent industry houses and officials from India and overseas.  Mrs. Rajashree Birla, Aditya Birla Group of Companies (Chief Guest), along with Mr. Rajinder Gupta, Chairman, Trident Group (Guest of Honour), and  Dr. Christian Schindler, Director General, ITMF, Zurich(Guest of Honour) inaugurated the event yesterday.
Today, 3rd December, 2012 is celebrated as The State Focus Day. The august presence of Mr. Sudhir Mankad, Chairman, GIFTCL (Chief Guest), Mr. Kamal Dayani, IAS, Industries Commissioner, Govt. of Gujarat (Guest of Honour) and Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Managing Director, Industrial Extension Bureau (Guest of Honour) opened the Technical Seminar andthe State Focus Day celebrations today.
Dr. Christian Schlinder, Director General, ITMF, Zurich,  Dr. Peter Dinsdale,  World President, The Textile Institute, Manchester, UK;  Prof. Dr. Roshan Shishoo, Director, Shishoo Consulting AB, Sweden;   Prof. Subash Anand, University of Bolton, UK;  Dr. Malcolm Kirkup, UK;  Mr. R.K. Jha, Director-in-Charge, GIFT City, Ahmedabad; Dr. Chandan  Chatterjee, Director, CED & GM, iNDEXTb, Gujarat; and Mr. TCA Ranganathan, Chairman &Managing Director, Export-Import Bank of India, Mumbai  will be the esteemed speakers at the  ITME technology seminar.
