Aaj Tak is not just the no.1 News Channel but also the no.1 TV Channel

New Delhi, 18 November, 2016. Aaj Tak, the Nation’s No.1 News Channel consolidates its dominance and repeats its surgical strike weeks performance by becoming the No. 1 TV Channel again in the Demonetisation week as per the latest BARC data leaving behind GEC and Movie channels including Colors, Zee Cinema, Sony Max, Star Plus, Zee TV and Sony Ent (SOURCE:- BARC, Mkt:- HSM, TG:- 15+ NCCS AB, Wk-45'16, Cov(in millions). 

Aaj Tak also had a massive lead in the news genre with 25 % market share on coverage of the demonetization post PM Modi’s announcement (Source - BARC, HSM, TG - 15+ NCCS AB, 08th Nov'16, Time Band - 20:00 - 24:00, Share %). The leadership of the channel is well pronounced by the fact that the No.2 Hindi News channel in that band is trailing far behind at only 16 % market share. And India TV at less than half at 12%.

The bold move by the PM to tackle black money was followed closely by the whole nation as people followed the news on the Nation’s most trusted and No. 1 news channel, Aaj Tak. Multiple show formats, live updates from the ground, discussions with the top experts in studio and live updates on the developments kept the nation glued on to Aaj Tak.

In addition to the coverage around demonetization, Aaj Tak has ruled as the clear No. 1 Hindi News channel during weeks of other impact making national news events including the Bhopal Encounter, Surgical Strikes on terrorist camps, Uri Attack, Pathankot terrorist attack and Yakub Memon hanging among many others.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
