149th  Meeting of State Level Bankers’ Committee organized by the
convenor Bank - Central Bank of India

The 149th meeting of State Level Bankers’ Committee, Madhya Pradesh was organized by the Convenor Bank, Central Bank of India, which was co-chaired by Shri M.V. Tanksale, Chairman & Managing Director, Central Bank of India and Shri R. Parasuram, IAS, Chief Secretary to Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. Dr. K.C. Chakrabarty, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India was specially present in the meeting.

In his opening remarks, Shri M.V. Tanksale, Chairman & Managing Director, Central Bank of India congratulated the State Government for the huge success of Global Investors’ Summit 2012 held at Indore from 28-30 October, 2012. He also placed on record the excellent support and guidance received by banks from Government of M.P. and informed that bankers are actively contributing to the growth of the State.

Shri R. Parasuram, Chief Secretary to Govt. of M.P. underlined the very successful results achieved in the State through the concerted efforts of State Government and Banks.


Dr. K.C. Chakrabarty, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, in his address stated that he has been citing the example of Madhya Pradesh at various forums for the implementation of various developmental activities and rapid progress that the State is witnessing. Investments expected as a result of the Global Investors’ Summit present an opportunity for the banks to participate in the growth of the State.

After conclusion of SLBC meeting, officials of M.P. Power Transmission Co. Ltd. and Central Bank of India exchanged documents under which the Bank has sanctioned credit facilities to the tune of Rs.300 crores to the Company.
