Ankita Shorey as brand ambassador


 
After sharing the stage with Shah Rukh Khan andRanbir Kapoor, where she hosted this year’s Filmfare Awards, Ankita Shorey, Miss India International 2011 has now been signed on as ambassador for leading jewellery brand Gitanjali -— previously endorsed byKatrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan—making her the first non-actress to be signed on by the brand.
Even before making her foray into Bollywood, Ankita has been signed on to endorse two product lines under the brand umbrella ,a feat very few newcomers have managed to achieve.
Says an excited Ankita Shorey “It gives me a certain sense of achievement to be placed on the same platform as some of the biggest A-list actresses –its an honor”.
And while several feel that the supermodel has all it takes tomake it big with her striking looks and the talent to back it, Ankita Shorey despite receiving several offers from some big names , is taking her time tosettle in on a project that will mark her Bollywood debut –
Says Ankita, “Your first film is always the most crucial film as it establishes your base in the industry. I will take up a project only when the right one comes my way.Currently, I am enjoying the space I am in”.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
