Union Bank of India launches
 Digital initiatives for its customers

Mumbai, 06th July 2015: As our country moves towards achieving mission of Digital India, Union Bank of India prides in providing customer convenience by launching following digital initiatives:

  1. IMPS through branches for Retail and Corporate customers
  2. Mobile Passbook ( M Passbook)
  3. Missed call facility for Mobile Banking & Account balance
  4. SMS based value added services

 IMPS through branches for Retail and Corporate customers:

Union Bank is the first Bank in the Industry to launch IMPS through branches for its Retail and Corporate customers by integrating IMPS platform in its CBS (Core Banking Solution) 
which is fully in house. 


Under this facility customers can approach any of our branch and request for instant fund transfer. IMPS facility allows customers to instantly transfer fund to any other bank account up to Rs. 2 lacs per day. Bank has launched this facility for both Retail and Corporate customers. Most of the  Corporate customers need instant remittance of fund and IMPS addresses their need as Account number and IFSC code of  beneficiary account is only required for the transaction to go through.

 Mobile Passbook (M Passbook):

Digital passbook feature shall be enabled for Bank's customer to view his / her account statement through mobile. The M Passbook shall be available at all mobile app store viz android, ios , blackberry , windows etc. Customer has to simply download the M Passbook and start operating it. He/she can retrieve statements of all his accounts on his mobile for any period.

Missed call Suvidha

·         To know the balance in the account
Customers can simply give a miss call from their registered mobile number to 09223008586. Instantly customer will receive SMS on his mobile for the available balance in the account.

·         To download Mobile Banking App
Customers can simply give a miss call from their registered mobile number to 09223060000. Instantly customer will receive a link to download UMobile App. Upon downloading customer can instantly register for mobile banking using the debit card details.

       SMS based Suvidha

Customers of our Bank can avail the following value added services by simply sending SMS to a designated number (09223008486)
·         Blocking debit card
·         Balance enquiry of various accounts
·         Aadhaar ID seeding
·         Enable/Disable user id of internet banking
·         ATM and Branch Locator

On the occasion Shri Arun Tiwari, Chairman and Managing Director, Union Bank of India said that Digital transformation is going to change the dynamics of banking in the near future. Digital Banking shall replace branch banking and Union Bank of India will always be ahead to foray into any venture which brings in technological convenience to the customers. Shri K Subrahmanyam , Shri Rakesh Sethi and Shri Kishor Kharat, Executive Directors of the Bank were also present on this occasion.
