Panasonic in association with the youth wing of CREDAI- Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India recently hosted a comprehensive seminar on ‘Smart Cities’. With the government’s urban planning directive centered on Prime Minister Narendar Modi’s vision towards building Smart Cities, the objective of the event was to showcase Panasonic’s range of Smart Solutions for the development of sustainable and eco-conscious towns in India. The seminar included hands-on demonstration of smart city technologies and facilitated individual meetings between Panasonic experts and government agencies, real estate developers and builders, hospitality companies and realtors.

Mr. Rizhkant Zha, Director, System Sales Division, Panasonic India was the spokesperson present at the event. The comprehensive smart city solutions showcased at the event have been effectively installed in Panasonic’s advanced model town, Fujisawa Smart Sustainable Town (Fujisawa SST), Japan. The products that were displated included PBX communication systems, high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems, solar power generation panels, high-definition surveillance cameras and video door phones to build safer and securer cities. Consumer products enabling Panasonic’s Smart Houses concept were also showcased, promoting zero carbon footprint homes through integrated energy creation, storage and saving systems.

Given India’s rapidly changing urban landscape, Panasonic hopes to continue to work closely with real estate developers in India to understand their requirements on local smart city projects.
