To celebrate the  30 years of Korea - Bhutan diplomatic relations, Tourism Council of Bhutan has organized K-Pop concert in Bhutan on 17th June 2017 at the Main Football Stadium, Thimpu. Over 30,000 visitors are expected at the event with 6 K-Pop performers at the concert, including PSY, Boys Republic, Girlfriend, Hwang Chi Yeul, BtoB and Bakdiz.
Bhutan falls under the jurisdiction of Korea Tourism Organization India Office, therefore, KTO will take the opportunity to promote the destination amongst the consumers in the region.
Considering the budding popularity amongst the consumers about South Korea, Korea Tourism Organization has made its first moves this year to promote the destination in some of the consumer based events in the regions under its jurisdiction. A consumer event is being considered in Delhi by the end of this year to entertain the consumers with K-Pop and bring every possible experience of Korean Culture and Tourism at the doorstep of the Indian consumers.
According to Mr. Byungsun Lee, Director Korea Tourism Organization, "Focusing on consumer awareness in 2017 is our new way to approach our goal of making South Korea as a preferred destination amongst Indian travelers. Considering the growing popularity of K-Pop in India, we hope we can see PSY in India in near future. "
