Lions Club Inaugural Session: Rally
Mumbai, October 2nd 2012: Lions Club International SERVOCARE week inaugural session started today with a rally of 100+ cyclists uniformly dressed in white colour and yellow jackets followed by 40 cars and several buses.
Cycle rally gave out several social and educative messages, displaying various banners about environment, health, nutrition, organ donation, education, sanitation, cleanliness, child labour etc. There were loud speakers installed in buses and cars which gave out messages, also people in the rally were shouting slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” thereby bringing in the element of patriotism on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The rally which took off from Willington Sports Complex, Santacruz went up to Walecha Hall, Juhu gathering over 3000 people. Lions Club Service Week which got inducted today will carry forward 1000 different projects during the course of week until 7th October, 2012 for the cause of human service. Closing would be held on 8th October, 2012.
The anticipated project cost for the service week has already crossed a whopping figure of INR 2.5 crores and expected to rise during the course of week. Activities during the week are being lined up from Bandra to Talasari area.
