September 1st, 2015: 92.7 BIG FM’s unique and award winning initiative BIG Green Ganesha, - grows bigger in its eighth season with Kapil Sharma. In a bid to make a difference to the environment, 92.7 BIG FM’s eco-friendly brainchild - BIG Green Ganesha, aims to appeal to those who want to make a difference in a simple yet an innovative way. This year, television’s most loved comedian, Kapil Sharma joins BIG Green Ganesha as the face of the initiative.

Excited about being the face of BIG Green Ganesha, Kapil Sharma says, “92.7 BIG FM’s initiative, BIG Green Ganesha is an amazing step towards embracing an eco-friendly way of life. I am happy to be a part of this noble initiative. I appeal to all my fans to join this initiative and actively be a part of BIG Green Ganesha.” Each year, 92.7 BIG FM, initiates a newspaper collection drive that is used later to make eco-friendly Ganesha idols. Local residents and celebrities join in to donate papers that help the skilled sculptors, across 15 cities, to make beautiful idols from the newspapers collected. While a massive paper collection drive is underway, 92.7 BIG FM has associated with Kapil Sharma to represent this drive and reach a wider audience. As a constant endeavor to adhere to the sensibilities of devotees, 92.7 BIG FM constantly innovates to make this drive bigger and better than the previous year.

Kapil Sharma will be the first celebrity to join hands with India’s No. 1 radio network to promote this initiative. This quick witted entertainer will also promote the importance of going eco-friendly at various levels of city promotions. Over the past 7 years, BIG Green Ganesha has spread awareness across 15 major cities including Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mangalore, Bhopal, Sholapur, Gwalior, Surat, Mysore, Baroda, Tirupati, Vizag and Indore.
