Amruta Vidyalaya win volleyball title

Mumbai, December 25: Amruta Vidyalaya School from Navi Mumbai emerged champions winning the boys’ under-16 volleyball final in the inaugural Sports For All (SFA)-India’s Premier Inter-School Sporting System, which commenced at the D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium, Nerul on Friday.

In the summit round, the Navi Mumbai schoolboys staved off a strong, spirited challenge from Chembur Karnatak School from Mumbai before coasting to victory in two straight games. Amruta Vidyalaya prevailed at 25-16, 25-20.

There was more joy for the Navi Mumbai school as Suresh Singh was declared as the ‘Player of the match. There was some consolation for the Chembur Karnataka School as their key player won the ‘Best Spiker’ award.

Results Volleyball – boys under-16 (final): Amruta Vidyalaya (Navi Mumbai) bt Chembur Karnataka (Mumbai) 25-16, 25-20.
Other awards - Player of the match: Suresh Singh (Amruta Vidyalaya).
Best spiker: Tanmay Panchal (Chembur Karnataka).
