Knight Frank celebrates the 10th edition of The Wealth Report 2016

7th April 2016 Mumbai: Knight Frank,the leading global real estate consultants, celebrated the 10th edition of The Wealth Report 2016at a gala evening on April 2nd at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The Wealth Report is Knight Frank’s leading research report that tracks the growing affluent population in 98 cities across 91 countries

The evening was graced by His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent and Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipuralong withPrincess Asha Raje Gaekwad and Pragyashree Raje Gaekwad of Barodaand Umang Huteesing of Ahmedabad.Apart from this, the evening saw a host of well known names from India’s corporate, business and entertainment industries includingRanjit (MD of Novartis ) and Indu Shahani (former Sheriff of Mumbai), Prasoon Joshi (CEO of McCann World group India and Chairman Asia-Pacific),actors Shilpa-Shetty KundraandSachiin Joshi and choreographer Terence Lewis to name a few.

To bring this landmark event to life, Knight Frank India partnered with the best names in the world of luxury - Rolls-Royce (displaying their iconic models - Wraith & Ghost II Series), Mathieu Lustrerie (displaying two of their masterpiece chandeliers), DAG Modern and Anmol Jewellers(celebrating 30 years of design).

On this occasion, DAG Modern conducted an art auction featuring 50 works of Indian masters (47 out of 50 works were sold at the auction) with part of the proceeds being donated to charity partner, ‘Project Nanhi Kali’, an NGO working towards education of underprivileged girl children. The auction carried the superstars of Indian Modern Art, a powerful 1967, oil on canvas painting by S.H. Raza, a poignant oil on masonite board painting by Anjolie Ela Menon and a 1961 oil on canvas painting titled Mother and Child by F.N Souza, to name a few.

Shishir Baijal, Chairman and Managing Director, Knight Frank India said, ”The Knight Frank Wealth Report has completed a decade since its launch on 2006. The report studies the movement of wealth and evolution of luxury trends in the past and forthcoming decades. India with its gradual increase in the number of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) has emerged as one of the bright spots in the world economy. Indian UHNWIs are going the extra mile to own their possession of passion may it be high-end ultra luxury residences or jewellery, art and automobiles.”

The evening concluded with a spectacular dance performance by Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Group.
