PNB MetLife Satara Hill Half Marathon 2016 sets Guinness World RecordsTM - for 2nd time

Recognized for "Most people in a mountain run – single mountain” for the second time 
4,081 people completed the marathon this year
Broke the previous record held by PNB MetLife Satara Hill Half Marathon 2015 with 2,618 runners

New Delhi, December 05, 2016: PNB MetLife Satara Hill Half Marathon 2016 is the official title holder of the Guinness World RecordsTM for the second time for "Most people in a mountain run – single mountain” breaking its own record from last year. The 5th edition of the popular Satara Hill Half Marathon, sponsored by PNB MetLife‚ was held on the 18th of September 2016. 4,081 runners from all over India‚ as well as international runners completed the marathon, covering a total of 86,510 kilometers.

PNB MetLife Satara Hill Half Marathon is recognized by the IAAF (International Amateur Athletic Federation). It is one of the few Marathon events in the country to have the distinction of being a member of the AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance races). The 21 KM half-marathon is organized by Marathon Association Satara, a Non-Profit Organization in association with PNB MetLife. It is held in the scenic ghats of Sahyadri Mountains in Satara region of Maharashtra, providing the runners a challenging but an adrenaline-pumping experience.
