December 2016 : Sustainable Agro-commercial Finance Ltd (SAFL), perhaps the first non banking financial company (NBFC) exclusively focused on financing farmers and agriculture has extended loans to the tune of 368 crores directly to farmers in Maharashtra and Karnataka.The NBFC is now planning to enter Madhya Pradesh to help build the agricultural infrastructure for better future and sustainable livelihood in the state.
SAFL has already built up an enviable record of extending its services to many of the neglected farmers and changing their life by sustainable development model especially in areas like Vidarbha and Marathwada in Maharashtra. SAFL is now entering Madhya Pradesh to grow its professional services to develop agricultural activity in that state.
Mr. Arvind Sonmale, Managing Director & CEO, SAFL said, “Like most of India, Madhya Pradesh too depends largely on rainfall, which has a high level of uncertainty. Hence there is an urgent and dire need for conserving and optimizing usage of water. Besides drip irrigation systems, other innovations including high yield strains such as BT cotton and other high yielding seedlings/plants, farm mechanization for improving productivity need to be adopted,”
“For many years an Indian farmer is unable to access timely, adequate and affordable capital to invest and develop agricultural infrastructure and we are committed towards offering permanent solutions for sustainable development and efficacy of farmers as well as ournation. All these facilities will be provided now to vulnerable farmers in Madhya Pradesh so that they can also march on the way of progress and high standard of living. .” added Mr. Sonmale.
SAFL financial assistance includes installing solar pumps & Appliances to save electicity, Micro Irrigation Systems (MIS) like Drip Irrigation & Sprinkler Irrigation to save water and increase yield, building pipelines by Lift Irrigation to make farms green ,Agri Projects, Small Business, Farm Equipment, Farm Mechanization,Land development, Horticulture Plantations, Poly Houses, Shade Nets,Dairy etc.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India.
