Contract Agreement Signing of OCS works Contract for Metro Line-3

Mumbai, March 28, 2018: MMRC signed first System Contract Agreement for the Electrical System works of 25 kV Traction System for Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 project with ‘Consortium of Alstom Transport India Ltd & Alstom Transport S.A’. This package mainly covers design, installation and commissioning of ‘Rigid Overhead Contact System and Auxiliary substations’. The Contract Agreement was signed by Mr. A.A.Bhatt, Director (Systems) on the behalf of MMRC and by Mr. Sriram Raju & Mr. Bruno Izambart on behalf of Alstom Consortium.
‘Letter of Award’ for this work was issued earlier on 21st February 2018. The work consists of laying Overhead Rigid conductor system in Underground tunnel alignment of 33.5 km route length, flexible and retractable type OCS in Depot, laying of 33kV & 25kV cable, Auxiliary Substation at 27 stations and other associated works etc.
Commenting on the same, Managing Director MMRC, Ms. Ashwini Bhide said, “25kV Traction works” is a critical component of Metro 3 implementation. We aim to implement robust and technologically advanced Traction system for Metro-3 and complete the works in time so that Line -3 project can be completed in stipulated timelines.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
