Foodpanda to Launch Technology Centre in Bengaluru

Plans to attract best tech talent from Industry and Research Institutes in the country and abroad
13 March 2018, New Delhi: Foodpanda, India’s leading online marketplace for food delivery announced the launch of its dedicated technology centre in Bengaluru. The state-of-the-art tech centre will be aimed to strengthen the technology infrastructure, product capabilities and end user experience for the company. A blueprint has been drawn to hire ~100 team members with strong tech background in a span of 6 to 9 months. The tech center will be fully operational in a couple of weeks. The centre will be headed by Nitin Gupta, who is recently appointed as the Head of Engineering at Foodpanda.
The tech centre will
extensively work on re-imagining the product, integrate functions and introduce
specialised domains of Machine Learning and Data Sciences. This would be
directed to develop more personalised offerings for the restaurant partners and
millions of prospective customers in the country. The tech centre is envisioned
to become a hub for the best tech talent working in the food tech space in the
country. The centre will also be used for aggressive R&D functions in the
future while leveraging best practices from around the world.

Nitin Gupta is the Head of Engineering at Foodpanda India.
At Foodpanda, he leads the engineering and development teams and is responsible
for building capabilities to deliver innovation and great user experiences. With almost a decade
of experience in the technology space, Nitin has worked with India’s top tech
unicorns such as Flipkart and Ola, in the past. He started his career as a
software developer with Bwin.party, as a game developer.
At
Flipkart, he handled the core supply-chain restructuring and re-architecture
exercise and was also responsible for all aspects of product management. In his
last role at Ola, he played key roles in developing the right and scalable
product & technology at different growth stages of Ola and has seen Ola
grow exponentially.

Hyderabad, Nitin resides in Bangalore with his wife and daughter.
