I&G Partners claim Golden Touch title

Mumbai, April 11: I&G Partners in Sports emerge champions of the inaugural edition of The Golden Touch Football Tournament for under-16 boys and which was played at the Hotfut South United Sports Arena in Dadar West, Mumbai. An impressive I&G Partners got the better of a spirited Leher Foundation by a narrow 2-1 margin in a pulsating and absorbing final, of this tournament organized for NGO teams.
The hero of I&G Partner’s victory was striker Kartik Chauhan who scored both the goals which was instrumental in shaping the fortunes of the team. For Leher Foundation who put up a strong impressive fight, the lone goal came through the effort of Laxman Pawar. Shrikant Rathore of Leher Foundation emerged as the leading goal-scorer with 8 goals and won the ‘Golden Boot’ award. Ritik Rathore also of Leher Foundation was adjudged as the ‘Player of the Tournament’.Young footballers from eight sports oriented non-profit organization teams had featured in this tournament, which is an initiative of 16-year-old Rohin Modi, a football enthusiast, who has been a passionate about the sport since the age of 5 years.
Rohin presented the Trophies and medals to the champions, runners-up and the individual award winners.
Results – finals: I & G Partners in Sports 2 (Kartik Chauhan 2) beat Leher Foundation 1 (Laxman Pawar).
