IMC Ladies' Wing celebrates 50 glorious years

The Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber Of Commerce & Industry celebrates 50 glorious years. The President of the IMC  
Ladies' Wing, Mrs. Radhika Nath, along with committee members Kaushika Hemdev and Kalpana Shah, met with PM Modi yesterday to invite him to address IMC Chamber Of Commerce & Industry and the Ladies' Wing on this historic occasion. They were joined by Poonam Mahajan who has offered great support to the efforts of the organisation over the years. 

The celebrations will take place in the form of a conference at St. Regis, on the 13th of April, headlined by an address by both PM Narendra Modi and CM Devendra Fadnavis. Several notable women will be felicitated for their outstanding work at this time and a book highlighting IMC Ladies' Wing's historic journey will be launched. 

The IMC Ladies' Wing started as a forum for implementing social change and helping women find their place in India society as well as the world of entrepreneurship as far back as 1966.  Throughout this momentous journey of the IMC Ladies’ Wing, has sought to provide women a voice and a space outside their homes. It has celebrated women’s contributions in rural entrepreneurship, banking and nance and diverse other fields far before it was the trend to do so. It has encouraged home based entrepreneurs to step in to the world to retail through our annual exhibitions and much more.

The 50th year committee is helmed by Mrs. Radhika Nath and supported by Kaushika Hemdev and Kalpana Shah and the theme for this year, SOAR: rise to your potential is a call for women to act in their own behalf to overcome institutional and personal barriers to success. Says Mrs. Nath, "In its Fiftieth Year, the IMC Ladies’ Wing it has become a proud and dynamic movement for the empowerment of Indian women. The Ladies’ Wing seeks to nurture the development of an egalitarian and inclusive society for a rapidly growing India. We are truly honoured to have the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and  Poonam Mahajan grace our celebrations and address the IMC Chamber Of Commerce & Industry and the Ladies Wing"

Bringing together the power of technology with the world’s most efficient network of Mumbai d abbawalas , it was launched after a successful beta testing phase.  Papers N Parcels, the app-based courier service, has tied up with the Mumbai Dabbawalas to leverage the award-winning network of over 5000 dabbawalas  for door-to-door delivery and pick-up of packages within Mumbai City limits. Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
