Rajdhani Royals rally to down Maverick Aces

Mumbai, November 10: Rajdhani Royals launched their campaign on a winning note as they clinched a narrow 3-2 win against Maverick Aces in the opening round match in the 3rd edition of the NSCI Badminton League (NBL), at the NSCI Badminton courts on Friday.
In a match of fluctuating fortunes, Royals won the first rubber with Sandeep Dillon & Nikhil Bansali defeating the Mavericks pair of Ravi Panjabi & Sanket Gandhi 23-21, 21-11. Royals were unable to sustain the winning momentum as Priyanka Haria & Mayur Saraf lost the second rubber to Hamie V & Samia Shah 17-21, 21-19, 14-15.
Royals regained the lead winning the third rubber when Rajnish Gupta & Sunil Seth recovered to overcome Pratik C & Dazshak J 15-21, 22-20, 15-13 in a long drawn encounter. Once again, Mavericks managed to draw level at 2-all with Ajay H & Raj Golecha beating Ashvin Bafna & Pawan Jain 21-6, 2-1-9.
However, Royals did well to win the decider with Mayur Bhojwani & Nikhil Haria combining nicely to put it across Abhishek N & Kapil Soneja 21-15, 21-15 to secure Royals win.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
