Mumbai 17th August, 2017: Seychelles Tourism Board recently organized a familiarization trip
for Mumbai, Nagpur and Ahmedabad travel agents.
The objective behind this trip was to create an understanding about the
destination and establish relations for the Indian trade with the private
sector in Seychelles. The trip aimed at showcasing some of the best hotels and
resorts of Seychelles to the agents educating them about the various offerings
Seychelles has in the luxury living space.
The all women
FAM trip experienced the warmth and hospitality of some of Seychelles’ most
stunning resorts and experienced nature at its best on the various beaches of
Seychelles.
Speaking about
this initiative, Mrs. Sherin Francis,
CEO, Seychelles Tourism Board said,” We are seeing increased interest for
Seychelles from the Indian market. A major part of the credit can be attributed
to our Indian travel trade partners for understanding the uniqueness of
Seychelles islands and promoting the same to the traveller. We will continue to
educate and support them through initiatives like FAM trips, trainings and
roadshow. “
Ms. Lubaina
Sheerazi, COO-Blue Square Consultants,
Seychelles Tourist Office- India said, “The travel agents group who
participated in the FAM trip loved the islands and the properties and are
upbeat about Seychelles’ potential to become a sought after destination in the
luxury travel space. They are impressed with the diversity of the islands,
their gorgeous secluded beaches, rare flora & fauna, adrenaline pumping
activities, delicious cuisine and friendly people. In terms of accommodation
the agents experienced the most exclusive private island resorts and luxury
5-star resorts which highlight the uniqueness of the destination with their
exquisite locations and outstanding hospitality.”
During the trip
the agents explored the two main islands of Seychelles – Mahé and Praslin and
enjoyed the warm hospitality of Savoy, Double Tree, Constance Lemuria, Constance
Ephelia, Hilton Northolme and MAIA. The group visited Four Seasons resort,
Enchanted Island resort, Coral Strand, Eden Island, Coco de Mer & Black
Parrot Suites, Kempinski resort and Eden Bleu hotel. The group also interacted
with the representatives of DMCs including Creole Travel Services, Mason's
Travel, 7 Degrees South and Vision Voyages who also partnered with the tourism board for
logistics and transfers.
Island hopping
is very easy in Seychelles with regular boat and air services between the
islands. Mahé home to the smallest capital city of the world-Victoria is the
most populated island of Seychelles. It is the only island that offers
motorised water sports and has the beautiful marina of Beau Vallon which boasts
of the best nightlife of Seychelles. Seychelles is a hassle-free travel
destination for Indians due to its visa is on arrival and gratis policy. On arrival
one just needs to show the return ticket, accommodation proof, valid passport
and enough funds for their stay for immigration clearance. Seychelles is
blessed with beautiful year-long warm tropical climate making it perfect to
visit anytime of the year. It is also out of the cyclone zone and is free of
tropical diseases.
