Ambuja Cement’s Technical Lecture on ‘Engineering Tall Buildings’


 
Scores of construction professionals gain knowledge from engineering expert

Ambuja Cements Ltd., a part of the global conglomerate LafargeHolcim and one of the leading cement manufacturing companies in India, recently organised a technical and interactive lecture at the Ambuja Knowledge Centre (AKC) at Surat in Gujarat as part of its continuous endeavor to enhance and expand the knowledge of Architects, Engineers and Construction (AEC) professionals.

The lecture on ‘Engineering Tall Buildings’ held in association with the Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects (ICEA) was addressed by Hemant Gor, a renowned structural engineer at Petrofac – a leading service provider to the oil, gas production and processing industry in UAE.

Mr Gor shared his vast experience and emphasized on Three C’s in Tall Building Project -  Create, Collaborate and Conflict Resolving, structural behavior of concrete, importance of construction modelling, role and impact of wind load in designing tall buildings among others.

Mr Gor said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Ambuja Cement for giving me an opportunity to conduct this lecture.”

“Today, there is a need to spread knowledge about technical aspects of construction industry amongst professionals and the AKCs are doing tremendous job in educating the professionals,” he concluded.

Ambuja Cement conducts such technical lectures through its ‘Ambuja Foundations – A Knowledge Initiative’ which helps in advancing the understanding of professionals via practical workshops, insightful lectures and experiential training.
