Mumbai, India, April 23, 2018 – Avalara Technologies Pvt Ltd., a pioneering indirect tax automation company, has been certified as a Great Place to Work® in India for 2018. The Great Place to Work Institute has been studying and identifying the attributes of great places to work for over 30 years, emphasizing that a High-Trust, High-Performance Culture™ can decrease employee turnover and increase business results. To certify that a company is a Great Place to Work, the institute conducts an objective two-part employee survey.
The first part assesses the organization’s people management practices, and the second measures employees’ perceptions on the credibility of management, respect for people, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. Eighty-three percent of employees took part in the survey process at Avalara India, a company that combines the unique skill sets of its workforce with the latest technology to deliver cutting-edge tax automation through a SaaS solution.
Nitasha Dusi, Senior Manager and Head of Talent Management, Avalara India explains: “We are honoured to receive this prestigious certification, reflecting the wonderful culture we’ve had at Avalara the past 11 years. Our culture is founded on nine principles that encourage each and every employee to bring ownership, passion, adaptability, humility, fun, optimism, curiosity, urgency, and simplicity to their work, day in and day out.“
“What also makes Avalara special is the bond we share as a team. Walk into our office on any given work day, and you can sense the warmth and desire to work together to achieve our common goals. While receiving this certification is certainly an honour, what’s equally gratifying is the opportunity to work with such amazing individuals. Thank you, team Avalara, for making this place great!”
Gautam Mukherjee, General Manager of Global Delivery, Avalara India commented: “This recognition is an absolute honour. Employee engagement has always been at the core of Avalara’s business strategy, and we’re proud to be an organization where employees drive creativity and excellence, care for their fellow teammates, and find true purpose, value, and enjoyment in what they do. Everyone here has the opportunity to do extraordinary things.” Avalara drives employee engagement through various initiatives such as happiness meter, spot awards, tech meet-ups etc. The company has an open-door policy that encourages employees to freely approach top management with their feedback, queries, and suggestions. At Avalara, employees appreciate the flexible work culture, growth opportunities and the freedom of decision making.
