BMW X6’ gets unveiled as the Official Car of Airtel Delhi Half Marathon along with Timex Timer as the Timing Partner

New Delhi(by Sailesh Gandhi): The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon get Active Expo 2012 was inaugurated at the NSIC Ground by Mr. Rabbi Shergill (Punjabi Singer), Mr. Christian Saffer, Director-Marketing, BMW India, Mr. VD Wadhwa, MD & CEO Timex Group India Ltd, Mr. Yatish Meherishi, Regional Director of Radio Mirchi & Mr. Dilip Jayram, CEO Procam International, the promoters of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon with the unveiling of BMW as the official car and Timex Timer as the timing partner.

BMW X6, which is the Lead Car for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012, was unveiled by Mr. Christian Saffer, Director – Marketing, BMW India at the NSIC Ground today. Alongside, Mr. VD Wadhwa, MD & CEO Timex Group India Ltd. unveiled the Timex timer.

Also present at the venue were Yatish Meherishi, Regional Director of Radio Mirchi & Dilip Jayram, CEO Procam International, the promoters of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon.

The Get Active Expo is organised and marketed by Radio Mirchi Activations from September 21 to 23 and is a unique opportunity for health, fitness and wellbeing enthusiasts to come together under one roof. The Expo will be on between 11.00 am to 7.00 pm on all the three days and will also be the venue for all confirmed participants from Delhi and its surrounding areas to come and collect their running numbers along with the goodie bags. Outstation runners can collect their running numbers and goodie bags on September 29 between 11.00 am and 7.00 pm at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Exciting times at the Expo: The grand finale of the Airtel Treadmillion Challenge will be conducted at the Expo on all 3 days. The zone which clocks the highest number of miles will be the winner. Airtel and Radio Mirchi will then help fulfill one of the demands of the winning zone, chosen/identified by the people of that zone. The winning zone will be announced on the final day (23rd September). The Airtel Marathon Rockers contest too will be conducted at the Expo at the following times: 6.15 pm on September 21; 3.45 p.m., 5 p.m., 6.15 p.m on September 22 and 5 p.m. on-wards on September 23.

A limited number of running bibs will be sold at the Expo by Concern India Foundation at their stall, with the proceeds going towards charity. Bibs for the Half Marathon will be available for Rs 2000, and bibs for the Great Delhi Run at Rs 1500.

The Following partners will have interactive stalls at the Expo: Bharti Airtel; BMW Experience Zone; Timex India; Omron Healthcare; Max Healthcare; Radio Mirchi and Concern India Foundation. In addition to the above, there will also be stalls set up by Nike India and ASICS Japan.

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is one of the three IAAF Gold Label distance running events, promoted by Procam International, where Timex is the Official Timing Partner, and BMW, the Official Car, the other two being the TCS World 10K Bangalore and the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon.

The BMW is the official lead car of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012. The BMW X6 will be lead car for the ‘Elite Men Half Marathon. The BMW X1 will be the lead car for the ‘Elite Women Half Marathon’ and the all-new BMW 3 Series will be the lead car for the ‘Great Delhi Run’.
