Megh Mandal Sansthan to Felicitate Indian Artists on the 111th Death Anniversary of Legendary Painter Raja Ravi Varma

Mumbai, 28th September 2017: Megh Mandal Sansthan, a non-profit organization based in Rajasthan, is scheduled to award selected talented artists in Mumbai at the NGO’s third edition of their annual event “Chaitranjali” on Monday, 02nd October 2017 at 8pm. The event is intended towards honoring the much celebrated Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma on his 111th death anniversary.

Led by the dynamic Vimlesh Brijwall, the NGO has be committed towards the noble cause of the betterment of the society and promoting the concept of sustainable development in various sectors. Since its inception Megh Mandal Sansthan has been working towards bringing positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their families and communities. Apart from contributing towards the betterment of the less fortunate, the Sansthan has also been taking up the cause of preserving Indian art, culture and traditions.

Raja Ravi Varma is one of the greatest painters in the history of Indian art. His works of art have received profound acceptance across the length and breadth of the country. His portrayal of Hindu deities and episodes from the epics & Puranas are used as objects of worship all over India. Megh Mandal Sansthan has been felicitating Indian artists in the memory of Raja Ravi Varma for the last three years. Earlier this year the NGO had conducted a similar awards ceremony at Y.B. Chavan Centre, Opp. Mantralaya Nariman Point, Mumbai. This event had been graced by Prof. Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki Ji, Governor of Haryana, Indian film actors Sohail Khan, Gulshan Grover, Yashpal Sharma, Randeep Hooda & Mahima Chaudhry and Bollywood singer, Madhushree. The event had also been honored by the presence of Raja Ravi Varma’s younger son Rama Varma and great grandson B.C.M. Prasad. Through this event Megh Mandal Sansthan once again aspires to create awareness and remind the younger generation about this great artist.

In its third edition, the event will witness the honorable presence of Prof. Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki Ji, Governor of Haryana as the Chief Guest. Additionally, apart from Vimlesh Brijwall who works in the capacity of Secretory of Megh Mandal Sansthan, the other Special Guests of Honor includes - General (Dr.) Shri V.K. Singh, Honorable Union Minister of State for External Affairs Government of India and Arvind Savant, Member of Parliament (Shiv Sena).

Speaking on the event, Ms. Vimlesh Brijwall, Secretory of Megh Mandal Sansthan, said, “We Indians are blessed with a rich history, culture and tradition that makes us unique. It is this culture that sets us apart from the rest and gives us a feeling of belongingness. With the flow of globalization and entry of western way of life, we often tend to forget how our ancestors used to live and thus miss experiencing some of the most aesthetic moments.

Raja Ravi Varma is one of the most celebrated Indian painters who greatly influenced the future generations of Indian painters and brought Indian painting to the attention of the larger world. Through our initiative of organizing ‘Chaitranjali’ to award talented Indians artists, our endeavor is raising awareness as preserving the unique art of Prince Raja Ravi Varma. Together we look forward to encouraging the talented artists of this generation by providing them with the recognition that they deserve.”
