UNION BANK WON BEST EMERGING BANK AWARDS AT IDRBT BANKING TECHNOLOGY EXCELLENCE AWARDS FOR THE YEAR 2016-17

Mumbai : Union Bank of India won Best Emerging Bank Award for the Year 2016-17. Bank’s Executive Director Shri Raj Kamal Verma and GM-DIT Shri R Kandasamy received the award from Shri S. Ganesh Kumar and Shri Sudarshan Sen, Executive Directors, Reserve Bank of India in the function organized by IDRBT on 01.09.2017 at Hyderabad.

The IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards is synonymous with excellence in technology adoption, upgradation, absorption and innovation. IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards are the benchmark for recognizing banks, which innovate and explore technology to improve cost, reach, customer service and efficiency. ‘Best Emerging Bank’ award recognizes bank that has demonstrated commendable performance across multiple categories.

World’s 1st Tech-Enabled Courier Papers N Parcels Launched by 13-year-old Tilak Mehta

Bringing together the power of technology with the world’s most efficient network of Mumbai d abbawalas , it was launched after a successful beta testing phase.  Papers N Parcels, the app-based courier service, has tied up with the Mumbai Dabbawalas to leverage the award-winning network of over 5000 dabbawalas  for door-to-door delivery and pick-up of packages within Mumbai City limits. Every dabbawalla who doubles up as a courier boy, carries an Android phone loaded with the Papers N Parcels app to take orders for pick-up or delivery. Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London. The Mayor was joined at the finals day by Bollywood screen legend and the co-owner of Mumbai City football club, Ranbir Kapoor, as well as the Chairman of Queens Park Rangers, Tony Fernandes.
