8th grader wins Doodle 4 Google 2018 Contest

The Mumbai based winner finds her inspiration in ‘Space exploration’
India, November 14, 2018: Culminating the Doodle 4 Google 2018 contest, Google India today announced Pingla Rahul More as the national winner of this year's competition. 13-year old Pingla and 75000+ other contestants from around the country produced amazing works in response to this year’s theme of “What inspires me?”.
Pingla, a student of J B Vachha High School, Mumbai, won among the very talented 5 age group finalists with her Doodle "Galaxy, Space Exploration”.
She said, “In my Doodle, I demonstrated what inspires me. I am extremely inspired by the Space Exploration as there is so much more to know about our Universe -- from planets to stars to galaxies and beyond. It is inspiring to learn how small we are, and how small our problems are, in the grand scheme of things. To convey my idea, I drew myself trying to see the expanse of the space through a telescope, I created galaxies, planets and spacecraft to represent the vastness of things in space. (carefully arranged to represent each letter in the Google logo).
Announcing the winner, Google spokesperson said, “We are overwhelmed to see great participation from talented and creative young artists year-on-year. It is heartening to see how these young kids expressed their unique inspiration and powerful stories with incredible creativity in such colorful Doodles. It was a tough competition. Our heartiest congratulations to all the winners and participants.”
The winning Doodle has been featured on Google.co.in today, to celebrate Children’s Day [14th November] and reflect the artistic merit, creativity, and expression of the theme.
The shortlisted entries were reviewed by a panel of  judges, including  creative mastermind Arun Iyer, famous artist and YouTube Kids Creator, Rob (Harun Robert), India’s leading YouTube Creator Sejal Kumar and the Google Doodles team lead, Ryan Germick who helped decide the winners along with 300,000 votes from the public.
In addition to Pingla Rahul,  there are four group winners. To see all the finalists' doodles, go to http://www.google.co.in/doodle4google/
