"I am sure that we will put it enough hard work to try and  make it a successful outing"

Ahead of their second consecutive game against the Gujarat FortuneGiants in Ranchi, U Mumba Coach E. Bhaskaran talks about the team, the previous loss and the positives from the games.

On playing Gujarat again after the loss against the same team3

We made a few expensive errors towards the end of our last game that cost us the match. In the last few minutes, Gujarat had just a two-point lead, something we could have controlled instead of giving away points. Sachin's failed ankle hold in the dying minutes of the game did us in - the hold lacked precision and lost us 4 points. Post which it was too late to make up. Sometimes players have off days and on those days we are not able to keep up the momentum. Our mach today is also against Gujarat and I am sure that we have put it enough hard work to try and  make it a successful outing.

On the improved performance of the defence

There has definitely been a marked improvement in the performance of the defence. Our centre defence is injured and so it has taken the younger boys some time to get their coordination right. If you compare, the mistakes (in defence) that we were making initially, those have been rectified and the performance is getting stronger with each passing match.

On Kashi's performance

Kashi was exceptional in the last game against GFG, it was only because of his performance that the team had maintained a strong position till towards the end of the game. With him leading the charge through his raids and the team supporting his defensive moves,  had we not made those mistakes in the end - I'm sure we would have walked away with the match. But Kashi has come on his own, which is a very big advantage to our team.
