Arjun Kapoor celebrates P&G Shiksha’s
impact on over 600,000 children by
building & supporting
over
330 schools across India
After completing 10
years, P&G Shiksha will now impact the lives of over 600,000 children, by
building & supporting over 330 schools across India.
'Arjun Kapoor joins a
host of celebrities who joined the campaign this year to make key
infrastructure interventions including; Soha Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Kalki
Koechlin, Chitrangada Singh, Shruti Hassan, Vaani Kapoor, Pankaj Advani,
Priyanka Upendra & Neha Dhupia.
To commemorate its
10th year, P&G Shiksha announces its vision to build and
support 1000 schools in the next 5 years.
P&G Shiksha has enabled key infrastructure
interventions to enable the access to education of underprivileged children,
by building new schools, supporting existing schools or re-activating
non-operational schools to build and protect the future of India.
Including Mumbai,
P&G Shiksha has made a difference to the lives of over 6500 children
across Maharashtra, by building & supporting 14 schools to provide
underprivileged children with access to education.

Mumbai, 5th May, 2014: With the infrastructure to impact the lives of over 600, 000 children, P&G’s
flagship Corporate Social Responsibility program P&G Shiksha continues to march forward with the motto ‘Padegha India, Badhega India’ by
building and supporting over 330 schools across the country. P&G Shiksha
has spent a decade driving infrastructure interventions by building and
supporting schools across the country to enable underprivileged children with
access to education. On the momentous occasion, Bollywood actor and youth icon,
Arjun Kapoor joined P&G to express his support for education of
underprivileged children and to celebrate the successful impact P&G Shiksha
has had over the last 10 years.
The actor also shared
P&G Shiksha’s vision of empowering under privileged children with access to
education, and together with P&G Shiksha urged
consumers to make the simple brand choice and join the program’s drive by
purchasing P&G products such as Tide, Ariel, Whisper, Pampers, Olay, Head
&Shoulders, Pantene, Vicks, Gillette, Oral-B & AmbiPur.
These purchases enable P&G to channelize part of the sales proceeds towards
building and supporting schools across the country.
In Maharashtra alone, P&G Shiksha has built and supported 14 schools
touching the lives of over 6500 children in the cities of Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur,
Nasik and Aurangabad to name a few. These infrastructure interventions include
building toilet blocks, building entire classroom wings and even setting up
school playgrounds to ensure access to quality education. These interventions
have thereby significantly helped in reducing the school dropout rate and
improving the overall literacy rate.
Speaking on the occasion, Arjun
Kapoor said, “I am incredibly honoured to be here today to officially announce
P&G Shiksha’s impact as well as declare their vision to build & support
