Roca Bathroom Products appoints K.E. Ranganathan as Managing Director for India Business

Ranganathan joined the company in September 2016 as President – Sales & Marketing. Prior to joining Roca Bathroom Products Pvt. Ltd, Ranganathan served as the Managing Director of TVS Electronics Ltd and as Operating Partner of TVS Capital, a private equity player during the years 2012 to 2016.  During his earlier stint in Parryware business in Murugappa Group, from 1994 till 2008, he served as the CEO of Parryware business and later was instrumental in forging the JV with Roca during the year 2005. Ranga served as the Managing Director of the JV till 2008. He is credited with result orientated approach that reflected in sales growth at a CAGR of 25% during his earlier stint with Parryware. ONGC Launches e-learning portal on gender sensitization

by Shrutee K/DNS  ONGC has launched a unique portal on Gender sensitisation to impart training on prevention of sexual harassment (PoSH) at workplace.   ONGC is the first Public Sector Enterprise to have taken this initiative to buttress the act of the government related to (PoSH).   Launching the portal Mr. D D Misra, Director HR, said the initiative was conceptualized to provide protection against sexual harassment at work place and for prevention and redressal of complaints of such issues.   This apart, the training will help inculcate a great sense of responsibility and professional ethics, required to discharge duties more efficiently, he added.   The initiative, which is the brainchild of Director HR, aims at covering over 3000 senior officers at the level of Deputy General Manager and above in the first phase.   The project, which has been implemented by premier institute ONGC Academy,   will have a complete roll out over a period...

India sees third highest number of candidates globally for Chartered Financial Analyst Level I exam

by Shrutee K/DNS Mumbai, 27 January 2017:  CFA Institute, the global association of investment management professionals, announced that of the 59,627 candidates who appeared for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I exams globally, 5,737 were from India, the third largest number of exam takers after China (14,181) and the United States (12,187).  Within India, Mumbai (2,848) has registered most number of candidate’s appearance for CFA Level I exams, followed by New Delhi (1,366), Bengaluru (917) and Kolkata (606). Regionally, Asia Pacific continues to be the largest source of candidates, with 30,569 exam takers. Globally, of the 59,627 candidates who appeared for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I exam in December 2016, 43% have passed. Demonetisation has shaken up sentiments of Indian real estate sector: RICS Monitor

by Shrutee K/DNS Mumbai, 31st January 2017 :- The November 8th announcement of the government to demonetise high value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 has dampened sentiments of the real estate sector across India, which until now had been comparably more upbeat than most markets in Asia. Both the Occupier Sentiment Index (OSI-an index that shows supply, demand and rent expectations) and Investment Sentiment Index (ISI—an index capturing overall market momentum) readings turned negative in the National Capital Region and Mumbai after demonetisation, according to RICS’ Global Commercial Property Monitor. The OSI index recorded a reading of -3 in the Q4 (October-December, 2016). It represents the weakest number reported for this indicator since the end of 2013. Demand for retail property fell over this period. Two groups of students, one comprising nine Ara Institute of Canterbury business students, and another 20 Fashion, Textile and Business students from Massey University, are spending four to six weeks in India as part of this scholarship.
