Foodpanda Spot the Panda Campaign

The tale of missing Panda: India helps Foodpanda find its lost mascot
by Shrutee K/DNS
Who doesn’t like the game of hide and seek, but this time Foodpanda’s brand mascot – The Panda, took the game a tad bit seriously and went missing for a couple of days .
Recently, Foodpanda launched a 10 day-long interesting social media campaign called ‘Spot the Panda’, when their brand mascot- the beloved and hard to ignore panda went missing from their website, as well as from all of their social media properties. It wasn’t a pretty sight and the brand was worried!
In its quest to bring the Panda back to where it belonged, Foodpanda ran a campaign online and offline and appealed people to keep their ears and eyes open. It was a contest in disguise. It urged people to click pictures of the panda, as and when they spot it and post it on Foodpanda’s Facebook Page using #SpotThePanda. Missing posters were also placed all over their city and online posts kept the people updated on the progress. It was brought to their attention that Panda was somewhere around in their city, making merry!
The missing report even had King Khan break sweat. Coming to Panda’s rescue, Shahrukh Khan made a special appeal to the people to #SpotThePanda through a video on Foodpanda’s Facebook page. As part of the contest, Foodpanda promised a month’s meal to the one who would spot the panda the maximum time, for absolutely free. The idea behind the campaign was to connect the brand with the people and bring them together to find their favourite panda. Foodpanda collaborated with various restaurants as well as ecommerce players like Burger King, Pizza Hut, Behrouz Biryani, McDonalds, UrbanClap, Nearbuy, ZoomCar, bookmyshow, Paytm, Grofers, Easemytrip etc. asking them for their help. Throughout the 10 day long campaign, the panda was found roaming on the streets, meeting people and indulging into various activities such as ordering food, availing massage services, entertaining people on busy roads, just being cute! Finally, with the help of thousands of people, the mascot was found outside Shahrukh Khan’s house Mannat in Mumbai on 4th April, bringing a happy-end to the fun campaign.
The brand has reached out to over 1 million people in Delhi / NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad through this campaign that proves how much we love the Panda.https://www.facebook.com/foodpanda.in
