5th Yashwantrao International Film Festival 2015 kicks off from 17th January to 23rd january 2015


The 5th Yashwant International Film Festival begins today, on 17th January in 
the esteemed presence of the 
Honb’l Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, Honb’l Sharad Pawar and the Cultural Minister 
Honb’l Vinod Tawde.















Mumbai - The Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai and Pune Film Festival, Pune in a collective venture, in association with the Government of Maharashtra have organized the ‘5th Yashwantrao International Film Festival (YIFF) 2015. The inauguration ceremony of this festival will be held on Saturday, 17th January at 5pm in the main auditorium of Y B Chavan Centre, Mumbai. YIFF will be inaugurated at the hands of Devendra Fadnavis, the honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The President of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Honb’l Sharad Pawar will be chairing the event. The Cultural Minister of Maharashtra Honb’l Vinod Tawde, Chairperson of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan Honb’l Supriya Sule, Vice President Arun Gujrathi, Treasurer Hemant Takle, General Secretary Sharad Kale, Director of YIFF Dr Jabbar Patel and the Director of ‘Like the Wind’, the winning Italian film of PIFF (Pune International Film Festival) Marco Puccioni will be attending this event in Mumbai.

The Veteran Indian Actor Anupam Kher will be felicitated with the Life Time Achievement award during this ceremony. The Indian classical musician and a renowned percussionist Taufiq Qureshi will be performing in this inauguration function. Around 71 films from around the world will be screened in the main auditorium, Rangswar auditorium and cultural hall of Y B Chavan Centre, Mumbai during YIFF from 17th to 23rd January 2015. Five films will be screened in each auditorium everyday with the use of latest technologies like DCP, Blue Ray, DVD, 35 MM, Digi Beta. A winning film of Pune International Film Festival will be screened in an inauguration ceremony of this event in the main auditorium here. The shows will include films in various languages and based on variety of subjects in different stratums like global cinema, retrospective, country focus, Indian cinema, Marathi cinema, student competition during this extravagant film festival. The first show of every day will be screened at 10.30 am during the event. The catalogue fee will be Rs 200 for Rangswar members, students, senior citizen and film society members and Rs 400 for others.


For entry passes of 5th Yashwant International Film Festival, film lovers should present one passport size photograph and any one document of licence, college id, membership card of film society, senior citizen card as an identity proof. It is mandatory for each film viewer to be above the age of 18 years by 17th January 2015. The entry passes are also available for sale on ‘Book My Show’ website.
