Industries organizes a football match to spread awareness about Breast Cancer
Kamani Oil Industries (KOI), the leading manufacturer of
specialty oils and fats hosted the Riso Cancer Awareness Cup, 2014 - an
initiative to spread awareness about breast cancer, its causes and prevention.
The most recent official data tells us that
breast cancer accounts for 25% to 31% of all cancers in women especially in the
metro cities. Kamani Oil Industries believes that awareness and education is
the first step towards winning the battle against this grave disease.
Graced
by Yuva Sena Head Aditya Thackeray and his mother Rashmi Thackeray, the Riso
Cancer Cup brought together 32 women’s football teams who competed against each
other for the Riso trophy.
The intensive football match was followed by a
short educative speech by Dr. Nitin Patankar, endocrinologist associated with
Jupiter Hospital, Thane who shared his knowledge about cancer, its causes and
prevention through fitness and nutrition.
As a promoter of healthy eating and living,
Mrs. Chitra Panniker, VP, HRM on behalf of Kamani Oil Industries educated the
women about nutrition and also busted myths related to oil consumption in
India.
Bandra Packers, the winning team commented,
“We are ecstatic on winning the Riso Cancer Cup. We had a fun filled yet
educative day and learnt a lot about cancer and its prevention.”
