Star receives accolades at the Great Indian
Culinary Competition 2014
Recognized
for being the Best Culinary Team in addition to
winning 9 medals at GICC!
Hotel Sahara Star enjoys a
roaring start to the New Year as the culinary team brings laurels and honor to
the hotel at the recently concluded Great Indian Culinary Competition (GICC),
for the fourth consecutive year! They won the esteemed Best Culinary Team Award for the second time at the prestigious
competition and had to compete with the best teams from the country in that
category.
Under the leadership of Executive Chef Salil Fadnis, Team
Sahara Star also won 9 medals
including 2 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals
in various categories right from Plated Appetizer to Live Cooking, where the
team displayed its exemplary talent in the field of culinary art. Akhil Reddy,
a Gold medal winner in the Platted Deserts category also won a all expenses
paid trip to HOST 2015, the annual
hospitality expo in Milan. It is yet another feather in the cap for Sahara
Star’s Culinary Team to achieve this remarkable recognition.
On the occasion, a very proud Execute Chef Salil Fadnis said, ‘Our team, with their unparalleled
experience, has worked very hard for this. These medals and award are very
important to us as we have competed against the best from our industry in these
categories. This is the fourth consecutive year that we have won in multiple
categories at the Great Indian Culinary Competition and we hope to keep up our
track record.’

GICC is the Industry's professional food preparation
competition, which was organized at a national level and involved senior and
apprentice chefs from all over India. At the recently held 8th Edition of the
challenge the jury tested culinary professionals across India on their
individual and collective skills in a purely businesslike and competitive
environment.
