Manhattan Mango much awaited book launched in Mumbai

BOOK LAUNCH

The story of three young and hip NRIs living in Manhattan New York

Mumbai 5th July 2014 -  Manhattan Mango was launched in Mumbai at Crossword - Kemps Corner. The much awaited book launch was very well attended and received extensive coverage. Celeb host Rohit Roy anchored the event with his usual suave wit and style. Other celebrities  present were Salim Merchant, Talat Aziz, and Manasi Joshi Roy.

MANHATTAN MANGO  storyline is based on friendship — Neel, Shri, and Shanks work hard and party harder in the most famous district in the world, until three women come into their lives and rock the status quo like they had never imagined. Adding to the chaos are typical Indians parents desperate to get their sons married--preferably to typical Indian girls. What follows is a series of adventures and misadventures that is part hilarious, part heartwarming, and completely unforgettable.

Salim Merchant, close friend of author Madhuri and her husband Suresh Bala Iyer, spoke about his visit to their Manhattan apartment on the 4th of July, exactly two years back! Coincidentally, the Manhattan Mango book launch, also on the 4th of July, brought back special memories for him.

He had visited the couple to watch the famous 4th of July fireworks from their balcony, but the tight security during the celebrations had made it difficult for him to get past the crowds! However, he managed to make it, and spent a memorable evening in Manhattan with the couple. Certainly, the book launch, two years later, brought back those special moments with friends.

Talat Aziz, Rohit Roy, and Manasi Joshi Roy too spoke about friendship.  Many evenings spent with great ghar ka khana and gaana bajaana were the memories they shared.  Just like the three buddies and their friends in MANHATTAN MANGO form a close-knit circle, and support one another, so too did these real life friends discuss the value of true friendship.

Guests also enjoyed the readings by Talat Aziz, Salim Merchant, and Rohit and Manasi Roy.  Present in the audience were media personalities such as Simi Chandoke, Anchor on ZOOM, and Aneesh Trivedi, a well known writer and columnist.

The evening closed with a line-up for author signings. Madhuri Iyer';s best-seller Manhattan Mango appears to have a growing fan base already.
