SCIENCE 2013 SCHOLARSHIPS NOW OPEN

 30 Scholarships worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs each to deserving
Class XII Science girl candidates from
Maharashtra, Karnataka &Delhi, NCR

 
True to L’Oréal’s beliefthat the ‘world needs science and science needs women’, L’Oréal India invitesClass XII candidates from Delhi, NCR, Maharashtra and Karnataka to apply for the 11th edition of the ‘For Young Women in Science’ scholarship program. L’Oréal India will award scholarships worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs each to 30 young women,granted over a period of four years for graduate studies in a scientific field from a recognized college or university in India.
 
The L’Oréal India For Young Women in Science Scholarship Programme is an extension of the international L’ORÉAL UNESCO FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE partnership. The L’Oréal India for Young Women in Science Scholarships programwith the support of the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCOhas helped young women, passionate about science, to achieve their dreams and aspirations of pursuing a career in science. By providing the financial assistance to pursue scientific education, this scholarship reinforces the vocation of women in scientific disciplines.
 
The number of women with careers in science in India is still very low. L’Oréal aims to promote and encourage women to choose a career in science. This initiative is our small effort to introduce change by acknowledging and enabling worthy women candidates to pursue science. Entering the 11th year and still going strong, Young Women in Science Programme is a great initiative to identify and acknowledge deserving candidates. It gives us immense pleasure to be a part of the next generation leaders in science”, said Dinesh Dayal, Chief Operating Officer, L'Oréal India.  
 
Eligibility Criteria:
Young women who have passed their Class XII exams from Delhi/ NCR(Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad)/ Maharashtra and Karnataka, in the current academic year (ended March 2013), with a minimum of 85% in PCM/PCB and not over 19 years of age on 31.05.2013 are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
 
Procedure:Application forms can be downloaded from www.foryoungwomeninscience.com or can be collected fromL’Oréal India Pvt. Ltd., A – Wing, 8th Floor, Marathon Futurex, N.M Joshi Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai 400 013. Forms need to be submitted along with the relevant documents (mentioned in the application form) no later than June 30th, 2013 at the address mentioned above. This scholarship is open for study in any field of science: medicine, engineering, information technology, pharmacy, biotechnology, and other graduate courses pertaining to science (B.Sc).
The L’Oréal India for Young Women in Science Scholarships Programme with the support of the Indian National Commission for Co-operation with UNESCO, has been initiated since 2003. This programme provides financial assistance to young women wanting to pursue their graduation in a scientific field.
