 Inter Bank Seminar on

“Advent of Hindi in Social Media and
 its role in publicizing Banking”


Bank of Baroda organized an Inter Bank Seminar at its Corporate Office, Mumbai on “Advent of Hindi in Social Media and its role in publicizing Banking”.  The seminar was inaugurated at the hands of Executive Directors of the Bank Shri P. Srinivas, Shri Ranjan Dhawan and Shri B.B. Joshi.  A renowned Expert on Language Technology (New Delhi) Shri Balendu Sharma “Dadhich”, Language Consultant at C-DAC Pune Dr. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Dr. Ramakant Gupta(General Manager, RBI) and Shri Vinod Kumar Sharma Dy. Director(Implementation),  Deptt. of OL, Govt. Of India were guest speakers on the occasion.  The seminar was attended by large number of Executives and Officers of various Banks/Financial Institutions functioning in Mumbai.

Also present were Shri Balendu Sharna “Dadhich” (Lanuage Consultant at C-DAC Pune) Dr. Vijay Kumar Malhotra (Language Consultant), Dr Ramakant Gupta (General Manager, RBI), Shri Vinod Kumar Sharma (Dy. Director Implementation Dept. of OL, Govt. of India) as guest speakers on the seminar.


The speakers’ highlighted that Hindi is being extensively used in Social Media and also explained the features and specialities of Unicode. They impressed upon taking forward Hindi as a Language in all modern media including social media. On this occasion the challenges and benefits on use of Hindi in a technology driven era was deliberated extensively.
