for academic study in 2014–2015
India (February 11, 2015) – Ten Indian students with proven
academic excellence were awarded 2014 TOEFL® scholarships by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Scholarships were awarded to
exceptional TOEFL test takers in India who are in pursuit of
undergraduate or graduate study in India or abroad. The
scholarships are worth a total of US$70,000.
Selected from a competitive pool of applications, finalists were
evaluated based on their English-communication skills, academic record, leadership skills and extracurricular activities. The scholarships are aimed at helping students to further their education at any of the 9,000+ institutions around the world that accept TOEFL test scores.
“ETS is pleased to offer the TOEFL Scholarship Program to exceptional students in India,” said Jennifer Brown, executive director of
the TOEFL Program. “We are continuously focused on the educational advancement of students here and are committed to identifying and helping those who are dedicated to their higher education goals”
Over the past four years, ETS has awarded US$240,000 to help
TOEFL test takers in India further their undergraduate or graduate
studies.

This year, 10 students were awarded the scholarships, which were
presented by U.S. Consul General, Phillip Min. Speaking at the
event, Mr. Phillip Min said, “As the oldest standardized test for English, the TOEFL test has played an instrumental role in preparing Indian students to acquire superior English-language skills. This has in turn helped thousands of students to excel in their careers by helping them gain admission into the best courses and institutions across
the world.”
ETS has TOEFL test centers in several cities throughout India, as
well as the TOEFL iBT® Resource Center Program specifically to
assist Indian students, and the TOEFL India Customer Support
Center for students with questions about their TOEFL iBT
accounts, scores and score reporting.

TOEFL iBT test and build English skills. The TOEFL program offers a suite of official free and priced study resources, including the
