26/11 Stories of Strength

ON THE 11th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and in the 150th year of the Mahatma, The Indian Express will host its annual memorial — one of the year's most widely covered media events — presented by Bajaj Group, powered by Hindustan Unilever, Facebook and Adani Group with Star as a broadcast partner. ‘The Indian Express 26/11 Stories of Strength’ will be telecast LIVE 5.30 pm onwards from the Gateway of India, Mumbai on TUESDAY, November 26, 2019.

In its fourth edition, the memorial event brings to the fore inspiring stories of courage, forgiveness, and strength of over 100 survivors who have been interviewed by The Indian Express over the past decade — personal accounts that find an uncanny and practical application of Mahatma Gandhi’s message. Their voices speak of the power of unity and show the will to take control of their lives.
The 26/11 Stories of Strength initiative also has the support of Shri Amitabh Bachchan who has been a generous ambassador of the cause, over the years.

Anant Goenka, Executive Director, Indian Express Group, said: “The voices of these survivors force us to remind ourselves that even in these polarised times, the majority of India is fiercely moderate.”

The event, directed by filmmaker Anand Tiwari, will feature a performance by actor Amitabh Bachchan, interviews of survivors by Vicky Kaushal and Radhika Apte and addresses by Union Minister of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari.

THIS YEAR’S PERFORMANCES — Tisca Chopra, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Zane Dalal, Rekha Bharadwaj, Mahesh Kale, Harshdeep Kaur, Divya Kumar, Shilpa Rao, Shiamak Davar Dance Company, Symphony Orchestra of India, The Indian Navy Band, Maharashtra Police Pipe Band.

The event will be live-streamed across all digital platforms of Indian Express Group – one of India's largest and most credible newspaper groups and amongst the world’s largest digital news media groups reaching well over 148 million unique users a month, in six languages across the world, as well as ABP News, Republic TV and big92.7fm. The memorial event will also be broadcast exclusively on Star Plus and Hotstar on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 9.30 pm.

Oman Tourism Launches New “www.experienceoman.com” website

The website was lau nched under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture during a gala dinner that was hosted on the sidelines of the 2nd UNWTO/UNESCO World Conference on Tourism and Culture that was recently held in Muscat. Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

  by Shrutee K/DNS Mumbai, 03 December 2017 : Four budding young footballers from Mumbai are set to head to London to train with Queens Park Rangers. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London. The Mayor was joined at the finals day by Bollywood screen legend and the co-owner of Mumbai City football club, Ranbir Kapoor, as well as the Chairman of Queens Park Rangers, Tony Fernandes.
