Experience fun-filled Songkran festival in Thailand

Head to Thailand during their most celebrated Songkran Festival that marks Thai New Year on 13th April and experience the fun-filled water parties. The tradition of tossing water at other celebrators during this festival is a ritual that symbolizes imparting blessings.
Various events have been planned as a part of Amazing Songkran Experience festival 2017 that will take place at Benjasiri Park in Bangkok between 8th -13th April, 2017; where all tourists and locals enjoy the memorable Thai New Year. The event will showcase Unique local experiences, Colourful Parades that highlight the myths and culture associated with Songkran festival, and provide an insight into some of the fascinating Songkran traditions from every part of Thailand.
Visitors will get a chance to wear Thai costumes and take selfies. One can participate in workshops and learn to make Thai scented water and flowers. Also, pay respect to the Buddha image and experience the ceremony in which respect is paid to elders through the pouring of water onto their hands by younger family members. Songkran related snacks and desserts from all regions of Thailand will be served, like Khao Chae – steamed rice in jasmine-scented iced water served with savory accompaniments and many more which will enable visitors to get a taste of the vibrancy and variety of the kingdom’s cuisine. There will be many cultural performances and local edutainment activities like Thai Blind Boxing, Thai chilli paste making and a Miss Amazing Songkran International Beauty Contest.
Visitors coming to Thailand during this festival should be ready to get wet, have fun and also visit different locations across Thailand to enjoy the Thai New Year as this is a fascinating time to be in Thailand.

Mayor praises the footballing talent of Mumbai as he announces young stars will travel to London

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the names of the successful youngsters on the first day of his trade mission to India. Sadiq was attending the ninth annual finals day of the Mumbai Soccer Challenge and watched a challenge match to win the inaugural Mayor of London Cup. He confirmed that, for the first time in the scheme’s nine-year history, two girls as well as two boys will be heading to London.
