LA LENCERIA PRESENTS ITS SUMMER COLLECTION 2017 FAIRYTALE FLORALS

by Shrutee K/DNS

Taking a cue from vintage fairytales and inspired by nature’s flawless floral themes, we are excited to present our latest resort wear collection of intimate wear ‘FAIRYTALE FLORAL’ that pairs unusual forms of fresh flora with subtle and elegant style.

Reflecting the ‘Sun’s out, bra’s out’ trend this season, the collection walks you through the untrodden pathway to a secret garden where flowers catch the sunlight through the thicket and sprightly sprigs stretch forth unabashed. So, get ready to energise the new season lingerie wear with scene-stealing summer hand-painted bras, Formica hand embroidery and softly blossoming luxe lace. Fall in love and flaunt your crochet tassel bras and printed pretty little things that are well-subbed in for tops.

Blame it on my penchant for creating these unapologetically sensual fantasy fashion intimates. This season I am playing with small nostalgic sprigs, in tiny, intricate garlands sprinkled with Pentagrams in Preen's witchcraft-inspired collection; in beautiful lace and luxe cotton. Find florals and intricate 3D flower embroideries in Aqua, Palm, Rose gold, Nudes tones spruced generously in every piece. These statement embroidery covers bras, Bralettes, body suits and brief’s sides.
Every piece lends an ethereal feel with those deliberately picked muted sorbet colours that naturally warm up to the lacework on them. I like the use of embroidered appliqués which have much more depth to them, than patterned fabric. The stitched flowers and textiles are nearly three dimensional with a luxe velvet finish embellished with pearls that really catch the light, showing off their exquisite detailing. In a world where everyone expects lace and satin on your lingerie, embroidery comes as a pleasant surprise. Whether it’s a soft pattern on a pastel colours, or striking teal on pure white, lingerie set with embroidery will definitely stand out. Embroidery has been around forever now and it is even believed that to the Chinese during the Zhou Dynasty, embroidery was a sign of power wealth and rank.

If this hasn’t already tempted you to make the underwear-to-outwear shift, maybe the sound of hand-painted lingerie will do it. Vintage floral designs stand out on nude and sorbet coloured bras breaking new ground for an artist’s canvas. I tried to keep it subtle yet rustic so much so that these floral clusters seem to get infused in the collection quite naturally.  Hence the dusty rose offers a gentler aesthetic, the nude tones kinder in terms of under dressing and a hint of a strap in a pretty pastel is more chic and understated.

Combining the boho chic feel with sheer and thread work, we invite you to explore our modern take on florals which reflects a new dawn of fantasy and femininity.

So, are you ready to take the untrodden path in this Spring/summer 17 collection?
