Mayank Gandhi, AAP candidate from Mumbai- North West, strikes a different chord with ‘Adopt Your Building’ Campaign

The AAP is known for its unique and effective election campaigning methods, be it autorickshaw campaigns or crowd sourced calling campaign in Delhi Assembly Elections, all of which played an extremely crucial role in AAP’s victory in Delhi.
Mayank Gandhi, AAP candidate from Mumbai- North West adds to this vibrant form of campaigning with yet another unique exercise – ‘Adopt Your Building’ Campaign, in which one or a few residents of a particular building will take charge of their own building and inform people about the importance of Voting for AAP and how it can bring change to the deteriorating political system.
These people ‘building anchors’ will not just seek votes but also encourage people to exercise their franchise. The campaign taps in on the fact that voters are more likely to respond to a familiar face and will be more comfortable in discussing Political agendas with them. This campaign is yet another remarkable example of how AAP continues to defy the traditional ways of fighting elections in India that is through the use of money and muscle power.
In the previous elections Mumbai had a dismal voter turnout of less than 50%. In this endeavour the common man will campaign for their very own AAP and also try and tackle the growing problem of political apathy in the urban middle class. This campaign which has been trending on AAP Mumbai NorthWest’s facebook page, is trying to increase the voter percentage and awaken the people about the current political scenario.
